I did not hear the Kaiser and Rockport presentations but I totally agree concerning the Living Voice/Kondo setup. Nothing wrong, nothing stood out negatively and the presentation was just musical and involving and the built quality is just outstanding! I don't know the total price of the setup but considering that just the amps are 150.000 €, the total value of the system will easily exceed the 500.000 € ... I'm happy for the guys beeing able to afford it!

P.S. if anybody has seen the pics of the room: the big wodden cupboard on the left behind the speaker is actually a subwoofer

Yes all the drivers they used are revised.
Also the widebander driver used in SR-1.

Cables and cleaner boxes are from Schnerzinger.

Reference MK II don't need that much power to deliver great sound, the 50 watt Kondo Kagura is more than enough.

    Re: Munich Show 2015

    Hi Mike,

I did. I went 3 times into the Vitus room to listen to them. I might be biased (sure I am) as I own the original MK I version with the diamond tweeter (also the Gauder in the Vitus room had the diamond tweeter), but I loved what I heard.

Let me start saying that I was not very much enthusiastic about what I heard in the Gauder/AVM room. The played the big Berlina RC 9 with the diamond tweeter and midrange with the top-of-the range AVM electronics at high levels but I did could not really enjoy what I heard. The sound was hard (what maybe someone would describe as the typical sound of ceramic speakers) an I felt that there was too much kick-bass and the bass was poorly integrated in the overall sound.

Another story was the Berlina RC 7 in the Vitus room: the system gave a deep and realistically big soundstage with very precise imaging. I loved the sweet and non-fatiguing heights with very good resolution. Voices were put stable in the room and the speakers completely disappeared. The bass was deep and completely filled the room.

With my audiophile friends we asked to play our demo CD with Audiomachines's Blood and Stone remix version (normally not my cup of tea, but its a good demo track for dynamics and bass capabilities). We heard the song with peaks of 111 db without having the sensation of stressing our ears as the sound always remained clear (it was nice to see how the room was packed with people in 3 minutes).

With other systems on the show we could not listen to more than 95 db without strain.

Personally I think that the Gauder speakers sound best with powerful tubes or class A, zero-feedback amps - like the Vitus. I'm convinced that the Vitus electronics had a big impact on the overall system performance.

Thank you Audiophon. Appreciate the comments! The comment about non fatiguing highs REALLY caught my attention. Can you describe the bass?

Also, since you already own the RC7's....what do you feel about the differences between the Mark 1 and Mark 2?

    Re: Munich Show 2015

The bass of the RC 7 in the room was powerful and sufficiently deep (I measured a flat response down to 30 hz). Gauder is using a subsonic filter in the RC7 so don't expect to hear frequencies below 25 hz. I understand that this could be an issue for somebody. For me it is not as my listening room is not large enough to cope with those frequencies and only very few instruments will ever go below 30 hz.

What was really astonishing was the sheer physical impact of the bass without beeing bloated or over present - and this comment is not just due to the 3 small bass drivers per speaker.

Honestly I cannot comment on the differences of the two versions as I could not hear them side by side. Of what Dr. Gauder told me on the fair, the changes are related to a completely new crossover, some changes in the inner damping and new binding posts. The crossover beeing obviously the main change. They will offer the upgrade to the current owners for 3200 euro.

Reportedly the changes improved not by a small margin the soundstaging and the bass which should have become more weight while reducing the the former small bass-peak at 50 hz.

Dr. Gauder and my dealer actually prefer the Berlina (also the big RC 11) with tubes. My dealer has developed with two engineers a tube amp and both Dr. Gauder and he love the combination. (link:Westend; the amp became the reference tube amp of the German Audio magazin).

Living in Italy I unfortunately could not yet hear the combination, but my dealer is driving with that amp even the big RC11.

Yes they are! 5 Years ago when I still had the smaller Gauder Akustik Cassianos, I changed from the Parasound Halo JC1 to my current Pass and they matched much better to the Gauder. The bass was better integrated and seemed to be deeper. At the same time the hights were sweeter and had a better resolution.

FMA 1811 - it uses 12 pairs of the mil-spec super fast and very powerful FM 17420 bipolar output transistors.
1 pair of 17420 are powerful enough to drive the D'Agostino Momentum Stereo or CH A1.....

Mike, no I haven't had the pleasure. Though i'm familiar with Accuton ceramic drivers as I used to own a pair of Marten Coltrane Alto's & have heard various Marten, Avalon & EA speakers. The Accutons are very fast & sound like good stators, but with the dynamics of a dynamic speaker. The latest 'cell concept' drivers take it a step further and share a common acoustic center, allowing proper time alignment on a vertical plane. The Gauder speakers have amazing build quality & design finesse. I am impressed!

This is what Jason Victor Serinus of Stereophile reports on the RC7. I can confirm his impression on the Gauder RC9 in the Gauder/AVM room:

"What I can tell you, however, is that the Gauder Akustik RC7 Mk.II loudspeakers were sounding much better than in the company's own room, and exhibited great control on the loud, demanding dance music that served to draw my four days at High End 2015 to a close."
