I look forward to having your speakers one day as well Ryan.

I'm still haunted by your 87.5 db Cirrus monitors ( after show hours Axpona 2014) really blew me away. Using only 18 watt DHT amps we still had no issues rocking out. I'm yet to hear a monitor speaker that sounded so full range, and so musical!

It's pretty amazing how tube amps can better solid state amps, but these 211's, like my 845 Line Magnetic amp are stunning. Tremendous 3D, prodigious bass and so musical. Lampizator 211's are powerful with 85wpc. They run pretty warm, like other great amps.

It's not often you buy something & straight out of the box you fall for it with your experience Joe. I'm in the same place for now & the future is upgrade some cables & maybe the stand-mounts. Congrats Joe, nice to see the Lampi gear living up to the hype.

Thank you Nick. I agree, they sound great. Heat is pretty high. They more I run them, I think they are a little hotter than the LM219. Sound quality is awesome.

    Norman,

Music fills the room, huge 3D sound stage, not just top to bottom and left to right but great depth, air and separation. I'll say it again, Lukasz is a genius. The Lampizator DAC into the amps is such a wonderful combination. Simple, direct and so musical. Just a killer combo.

    Wow!

It is what I heard Lukasz promising, but I needed to hear it from someone outside the Lampi company. Seems like he outdid himself.

Also, with the Bal config the differntial summator will cancel out all digital noise as well. So unless the tubes themselves are noisy, the chain should be dead quiet.

Mike, is a Bal GG with 211 amps and Taka/Elrog/WE 300b tubes on the horizon?

Seems very quiet. I need to listen again tonight with my ear closer to the tweeters, but if there was too much noise, I think I would have noticed by now. I do get a little pop through the speakers when I toggle the bias switch for each 211 tube.

Overall, very quiet. These could be killer on your Westies.

how is the house Lampi 211 sound vs the LM you used to own? more vintage, more modern, etc.

I assume the additional p/p power is beneficial on the Strads...

    Keith,

I'd say a touch more "modern" but better in EVERY way. And YES, the additional power is very welcome.

I think the fact that the amps were designed around the Balanced Dac makes it a match made in heaven. Diff summator and no phase splitting may be the key...

You can definitely get by with less (one setup I run with them is 2A3) but they really come alive with some power (I also run Dartzeel CTH-8550 and Shindo CC80) so noise level is first hurdle for me...

The amps are quiet. Plus since there are volume controls on the amps, you can dial back the volume a little when you run your preamp or source into them. No issues whatsoever.

Thank you Steve. You should consider a balanced Golden Gate. After a long break in, it will be off the hook amazing.

Differential summator circuit in balanced DAC config eliminates the digital noise, so its left to tube microphonics as the only possible source. As Joe runs both Dac and amps, he wont have any issues….unless he has iffy tubes.

    Joe,

I cannot let you suffer alone. I have just ordered the Golden Gate DAC. After I receive it, I may go for the amps as well. If they drive the Strads, they should have no problems with Magicos.

    Balanced, of course…right?

I recall you run fully balanced.

Congrats man, I would say that I would try to wrangle and invit to hear them next time I am town, BUT I will likely only be there when you are far too busy to entertain...

    Hi Joe,

I'm thinking about possibly going for the Lampi GG next year. Not sure there would be any advantage going balanced over SE as my Soulution 520 preamp is an unbalanced design. Norman is always writing not to go balanced GG or B7 unless the entire system is fully balanced.

But I think you are probably experiencing the best Lampi synergy of anyone right now with your balanced B7 running straight to the balanced 211's. Looking forward to hearing more about the sound as they continue to break in. Again, huge congrats on something very special!

    Best,
    Ken
