Entreq cables
Does anyone have experience with Entreq cables? I'm looking to try out some speaker cables, probably the Konstantin or Challenger with my Devialet/Raidho C-1.1s. I am about to invest in an Entreq Tellus grounding box and I'm intrigued by the idea of the grounded speaker cables.
I'm guessing it might be safer to try Ansuz/Nordost, but I'll give these a try.

Re: Entreq cables
Speak with Spiritofmusic if you can. He has spent time even more time with Entreq than I have. He also owns the Entreq Grounding box which I have auditioned and liked very much. I own the Entreq Atlantis grounding cables and use them with my Tripoint Troy SE (which I happened to get from a dealer who is also a friend. I could have been happy with Entreq as well.)
I think Spirit ended up comparing them with Sablon Audio cables which have a comparable sonic signature and are excellent...I have auditioned them myself and only until recently used their IC which is still top notch for me. (I replaced it with a Transp RefMM (MM2) which I happen to get at a knock down price 2nd hand that also was perfectly calibrated for my system so the system's loom is consistent.Speaker: Wilson Audio XLF + Velodyne DD18+

Re: Entreq cables
Thanks! I think we may be in similar circles as I know Mark at Sablon, and I'm using one of his forthcoming Petit Corona power cords for Devialet with great success.
I too snagged a used Transparent Reference XL S/PDIF recently, very fortunately!
It's difficult with the Raidhos as it seems like they quite specifically will work best with Ansuz or Nordost. It's not too difficult to get hold of used high-in-the-range Nordost but Ansuz isn't happening at the moment in that respect. I'm going to try out the Entreq speaker cables anyhow - it could be very interesting.

Re: Entreq cables
I've started off with the Minimus and upgraded to a Tellus, which I have been using with great results over the last 2-3 years. They work very well with their own cables (I use the silver ones), but I've known others that use PCOCC silver or copper cable as a more cost effective substitute with great results.
You can expect a much lower noise floor, spaciousness with a more tonally solid tone and image specificity. It works really well hooked up to your preamp ground. I've no experience with their speaker cables, but have used their USB cables before. The USB cable must be used with either the Tellus or Minimus for it to perform.Eric's System

Re: Entreq cables
Cheers! I have a Tellus on loan now with an assortment of grounding cables. The improvement is profound in my case and I will definitely get one. It's almost fixing something that was "broken" before. I think a lot of it is due to the way equipment is grounded internally.
it seems crazy to me that ground cables, carrying such a tiny current could produce different sound quality with different cable construction, but they do! I've been tempted to go the homemade route with cables as while the Tellus box itself looks good value, I reckon they make most profit on the cables, almost like the "razor blade" principle. But then they've done all the research legwork and it could cost me a lot in time and money to achieve the same thing.
I will hopefully try out some speaker cables,in the next few weeks. Looking at Ansuz as well which seems like a logical choice for my Raidhos, but Entreq seem to be doing a lot of things right lately.

Re: Entreq cables
Hello,
I have been using Entreq Silver Minimus and Atlantis groundboxes in my MSB digital stack.
Your analysis is spot on Eric!
I'm using the apollo cable. The Atlantis should be even better, tried it, but the RCA contact was a bit too big in the MSB! Hmmm
Also using Entreq feet for my phono amp and for the Silver Minimus / Atlantis which are stacked on each other. (tried them next to each other with separate feet, but it did not sound as good) Heared that P-O (from Entreq) had similar experiences.
I'm currently waiting for an Entreq phono cable for try out on my AMG TT.
Interesting products.

Re: Entreq cables
Hmm, been wondering about the Silver+Atlantis Minimus combo rather than a Tellus. Physics tells me the increased surface area in the Tellus should be an advantage but then we don't know how big the copper plates are inside or the effect of the silver mineral content over the standard content. This is wacky stuff isn't it?

Re: Entreq cables
I can only speak for my limited experience with various Entreq grounding products:
- Silver Tellus
- Atlantis box
- Apollo Grounding Cable
- Atlantis Grounding Cable
In my own system, getting the Atlantis box did not do much WITHOUT the Atlantis Cable. The Atlantis Cable went into JUST the Silver Tellus and the improvement was seriously big. Took it out and added the Atlantis box...ok, not great. Improvement but not anywhere near where I would spend.
Then I put both Atlantis box and Atlantis cable...now you're talking. Seriously 'deflating' when you take it back out of the system kinda good.
So if one is debating cables vs box...I think go with as big a box as you can...and then focus on best grounding cables before adding another box or going for a bigger box. my two cents.Speaker: Wilson Audio XLF + Velodyne DD18+

Re: Entreq cables
The Atlantis add-on boxes (Tellus & Minimus) come with an Atlantis cable to connect each, don't they? (presumably a much shorter cable). You're talking an additional Atlantis cable to a device, right? I'm finding the type of cables seem to add more than the box, though the box is vital to the whole thing of course.

Re: Entreq cables
Yes, I believe you are correct. Originally, the cable was not going to be included (pre-production)...and then I believe they included it. I agree with you...cables improved more than extra boxes. but for the ultimate, adding the box AFTER upgrading cables took things even further in my system.

Re: Entreq cables
Hi,
the reason I bought the Silver Minimus and Atlantis box instead of the bigger Silver Tellus, is that they recommend to separate the grounding for digital versus analog products.
My aim is to have the Minimus for my MSB Transport/DAC and later buy Silver Tellus for phono amp , power amp and TT.
I`m saving for the later.

Re: Entreq cables
Interesting...I have heard separating is important. In fact, there are people who use Tripoint for grounding chassis and Entreq for grounding signal. Yeesh...I actually think that could work, but that's a bridge too far for me. I already feel very fortunate to be able to listen as we do.

Re: Entreq cables
Bump..
Any Entreq users for signal grounding here ? I was skeptical but after an afternoon demo and now after having my kit installed for a week, it is a real game changer. Probably more significant than any tweak I have encountered so far short of a new major component purchase. The most important component to do first is the preamp input. Phono stage is also a great place to signal ground. I have also done my amps using the spare rca inputs. For you digital people, that to is improved just by the fact that a Dac is plugged into the signal grounded preamp. I would imagine grounding said digital device with its own ground cable would yield additional benefits. As always YMMV. Get a demo, it's well worth the effort.Source: TechDAS AF1, CA Master Innovation, UHA Phase 12-OPS-Vari-EQ RTR, PS Audio PW Mk 2 Dac & Trans Carts: Koetsu Coralstone & Tiger Eye, Dynavector XV-1t, Lyra Olympos Mono Amps: Allnic H5000 DHT phono, Pass XS pre, Pass XS-150 dual chassis mono's Speakers: Wilson Alexandria X-2.2 Cables: Nordost Odin PC, IC, Speaker Signal Grounding: Entreq Silver Tellus (2) and Atlantis Ground wires Isolation: Stillpoints Ultra series, Table Stable TS-140

I'm also experimenting with the Entreq grounding. Only at the phono/preamp end of the system. Too early for any conclusive opinions, but I will report back. Changes are audible....
