Four Seater Convertible
I drove the M4 cab again today and man, with the right setting, the SMG tranny is excellent. It can go to rapid fire quick to buttery smooth and everything in between.
It handles and accelerates great.
Handling is terrific, and only eclipsed slightly by the Porsche, but it has a smoother ride.
The car isn't as nimble as the 911 and it feels "big" - like a muscle car type feel, but it has a useable trunk and useable backseat. Damn good overall.My Systems: http://www.audioshark.org/showthread...481#post158481

go for the Ferrari!!
Is this a new 911 c4s vs. m4? They are 2 totally different animals. The design and total package is just so much greater with the 911. I wouldn't call the difference in handling slight especially after you've driven the 911 a while. It's really night and day. The service, build quality and satisfaction of the porsche will be a lot higher in the long run. I've owned M cars my entire life and they are great at the price point. I love them but they are no 911. Then again, the 911 is no Ferrari F430 either. If you've got the money..... You know the answer already. Stop wasting time and enjoy.

I'm not wasting time. I enjoy the research. I've owned a Porsche and M3 before. The M4 - if you've driven it - is not anything like the old M3. It's a beast. But the 991 911 C4S isn't anything like the 997 either. Originally Posted by Hessec

My comments were meant to be light hearted. Ferrari-prestige/ show, M4- practical(within the context), 991-911- drive/show. 997-911 drive. These are good problems.

Beautiful car! Porsche top down is awesome. Here is my wife last night with her Targa 4S. Mike's GTS can is an instant collectors item since Porsche is going all turbo to meet fuel legislation. Get the naturally aspirated while you still can.

Most of the European brands are dropping naturally aspirated pretty quickly to meet the new legislated standards. There is something extremely special about the 911's flat six. I have the turbo s and even then there is something uniquely special and hard to put into words about the 911 non-turbo. Originally Posted by Mike

I upgraded the power supply on my Gigafoil v4 to a Weiss PSU 102. It’s very nice step up. But with the new model, you’re looking at $2000 before even investing in a SOTA linear power supply.
