    Re: JOB Monoblocks

I wonder how the Job will react to tubed output stage of the Lampi. Beeing a bit Spectal-like in design, it may not be happy to see some DC that is always present on tube gear output.

Does the Job's manual mention that ?

The Job stereo manual mentions that it will pass DC, if present. I've used my CJ GAT and it sounded awesome on the Job (although gain was a little high). Best preamp combo was the Dartzeel preamp on the Job (kind of crazy to think about the price differential). I personally have never heard anyone having problems or seeing posts of anyone having problems with the Job.

That is the thing. You may fry the speakers if the DC is too high. And the worst thing is, the speakers will not give you any warning signs. One day in the morning you will discover that they are fried. Quietly, overnight.

From what I understand, there are MANY other amps that will pass DC. However, amps/preamps like Ayre, have DC protection built in.

I think your MSB M202 amps pass DC.

On the contrary. Most are DC coupled designs.

    Re: JOB Monoblocks

I used the monos and the 225 with my B7 for a week or 2, via a CZ passive preamp and the Aum Acoustics LDR preamp (Joe has one too). No problem at all. Never went direct though.

    Re: JOB Monoblocks

I bought a pair of JOB 250 monoblocks with only ten hours on them from the owner and chief engineer of Tortuga Audio. I have had them in my system since last Thursday. I am using them with a pair of Audio Physic Scorpio II's, JOB Pre2 preamplifier and a Schitt Audio Multi bit Bimby DAC. the JOB 250's are very fast amps that maintain a firm grip on the drivers. the bass is accurate, tight and deep.in my opinion these amps are a steal at the internet direct price. frankly for what I paid for them I almost feel like I stole them.

    This mirrors my views perfectly.

Just what did you pay for them? Were you the one that scored the Ebay pair for $1300? If so...very jealous! LoL
