Hard to argue with Viva. Always loved what I heard.

Re: Best SET (300B, 845)?
Is Chalice Audio, the amp noted above in the PF link, no longer around? The link to their site and a Google search seems to imply that the company isn't around anymore?

Re: Best SET (300B, 845)?
Hi Joe, Thanks for the welcoming note. Any feedback on any of the LA Audio gear? I am in the market but information on them is hard to come by. Thanks, Paul

Re: Best SET (300B, 845)?
Hi,
All I remember was that Mike flipped out when he heard the LA gear several years ago. I think it was a little difficult to come by and he went nowhere with it. It took him a long time to get over that sound. I am sure that today, he will still feel the same way.Fleetwood Deville by Oswald Mills Audio, Vienna Acoustics Haydn Jubilee, Wharfedale Linton w/ stands, Klipsch RB-75, Klipsch RP-160M.

Has anyone compared good SETs to Jadis on horns? Or to OTLs?

Re: Best SET (300B, 845)?
While I have not heard many SET's, I was totally enamored after my encounter with the Coincident Frankenstein 300B monoblock amps. Such tone and what a soundstage with reach-in depth. Plus they are "real world" priced.
Not sure how they compare to some of the others in this thread.
And as always, the choice of tubes will change the sonic signature on any of these amps.My System

Which are the best 60 - 80w SETs? I know KR and NAT and Silvercore (304 TL valves). Any others?

Re: Best SET (300B, 845)?
I guess you could check out Wavac. I like the Kronzilla - but I'll pass on the tube replacement cost. Honestly, I don't understand the high power SET game though.
I'd aim for a 20-25 watt 211/845/PP 300B amp if possible to open up your options considerably. Check out Audion which is local to you. One of the fastest SETs out there.Brinkmann Bardo w/ EMT HSD-006 cart, MSB Reference DAC --> Linear Tube Audio MicroZOTL --> Ampzilla 2000, 2nd Edition --> Fyne Audio F1-12

Tidal seems to be quietly stepping up their game. There has been a lot of high res MQA new releases hit every week. It does come down to the master though, I have some 44.1k albums that sound...
